Makutano
All participants in the Makutano Forum must each hold a passport valid for at least three months and meet the requirements for obtaining a visa to enter the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
All participants located in regions or countries where the DRC has no diplomatic representation may obtain visas on arrival.
To obtain this visa, applications must be submitted online at www.evisa.gouv.cd. Please note that, on average, processing electronic visa applications takes two to three business days, and it is strongly recommended to apply well in advance (we recommend ten days ahead).
To make your transfer between the airport and your hotel easier, we have arranged shuttles for both arrival and departure.
If you are staying at an establishment other than one of our partner hotels, it is recommended that you arrange shuttle service with your hotel at the time of booking.
Should a medical issue arise, first aid will be provided free of charge by the accredited medical staff at the Makutano Forum venue.
Appropriate medical facilities located nearby can take care of participants at their own expense.
Travelers to the Democratic Republic of the Congo must carry a valid international health certificate of vaccination against yellow fever. They must present a negative Covid-19 PCR test with a sample taken less than 3 days, or 72 hours, before entering the country.
On arrival at the airport in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a Covid-19 PCR test will be carried out, with a fee of USD 45 payable by the traveler. Travelers must register online for the test at inrbcovid.com. Upon departure, a negative Covid-19 PCR test will be required at the airport and costs USD 30. A testing facility will be set up by the Makutano Forum organization.
Practical Information
Kinshasa is a pleasant, vibrant city full of restaurants and bars.
Kinshasa's taxis are distinctive in that they are shared and follow predefined routes, much like buses. To get a private taxi, you need to ask for an “express,” but in that case the fare must be negotiated before getting into the vehicle.
Our partner, the travel agency Jeffery Travel, can provide you with valuable advice if you wish to take advantage of your stay to discover the DRC. Jeffery Travel www.jeffery-travels.com
